What CSNT currently asks applicants to gather

  • Current ID for household members age 18 and older
  • Birth certificates and Social Security cards for household members
  • Income verification for the 30 days before the application date
  • Applicable benefit or award letters and SNAP documentation
  • Current electric, gas, and/or propane bill
  • Required signed forms and any declaration-of-income documentation

This tool uses the 2026 HHS poverty guidelines for the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C. It does not determine CSNT eligibility. Each program can use different rules, deductions, categorical eligibility, or thresholds.

2026 HHS reference: $15,960 for a one-person household, plus $5,680 for each additional person.
